Job Description : Junior Programmer
Position: Programmer
Reporting to: IT Head

Key Purpose of the Job:
The Programmer is responsible for maintaining & ensuring continuous availability of the database and software used in the organization, as per requirements. The role holder is responsible for clarifying user queries, timely troubleshooting and take up improvement projects to increase efficiency &utility of existing applications / software. Preparing reports, documentation for the IT function on software maintenance is critical for the role.

Educational Qualification / Experience required:
- Graduate / Engineering degree in IT / Computer Applications
- Experience of 2 - 4 years in coding and troubleshooting / maintenance of softwares in any industry
- Should possess working knowledge of ERP modules
- ASP .NET , C #, J Query, SQL
- Should have an understanding of manufacturing sector and its processes
Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for maintaining databases, softwares used in the organization, as per requirements
2. Troubleshoot and provide support for maintenance of in-house softwares, as required
3. Provide support in development of enhancements in the in-house softwares
4. Prepare reports, documentation for the IT function on software maintenance

Task Analysis:
Indicative Tasks
1. Responsible for maintaining databases, softwares used in the organization, as per requirements
Ensure smooth operations of day-to-day processes including regular maintenance activities / query reports for internal customers / users in the organization
Insert / delete data records in the database used in softwares, as per requirements
Coordinate with vendors for identifying bugs/errors in the software applications and address errors within stipulated timelines, to ensure smooth working of software applications
Provide support for implementation of new softwares applications and ensure smooth integration of software with daily needs of the users
Provide training to users on applications, track usage statistics, adoption of software and provide resolutions to all queries raised by users in coordination with vendor stakeholders
Conduct periodic maintenance of support infrastructure as per defined procedures
Troubleshoot issues, bugs observed during usage as per defined guidelines and timelines, provide detailed reports to vendor stakeholders on recurring bugs / errors for support and rectification
2. Maintain in-house softwares and provide support for software enhancement, as required
Respond to emails sent by end users, provide clarifications and assistance regarding in-house software usability, as required
Attend calls from end users, understand the nature of problems, respond to queries / resolve technical issues within definedtimelines
Make minor code changes for resolution of issues in softwares for functions (Such as production, procurement, etc.) if required
Escalate high level troubleshooting issues to the IT Head, as per requirements
Track resolution of all issues raised by users in coordination with Vendor stakeholders for code related issues; Close all issues within stipulated timelines
Analyse issue resolution reports to identify common trends, conduct root cause analysis and resolve repeat issues
Ensure adherence to the troubleshooting process and protocols
3. Prepare reports, documentation for the IT function on software maintenance
Develop Standard Operating procedures for defining various usage scenarios of softwares
Define process flows with flowcharts for ease of understanding and use for all internal customers / users in the organization
Collaborate with IT head for review and finalizing SOPs / processes
Maintain the data related to issue calls/ mails and document the issues raised versus the solutions provided for future reference
Maintain and update checklist for maintenance of softwares / databases, on a periodic basis
